Entrepreneurial Bootstrap Course

“Making ideas investable”

We all desire to create a legacy; whether it is through career advancement or entrepreneurial initiative. It is thus important to understand the many variables that drive your success in building your legacy. Ultimately it boils down to knowing your wealth position and building tailor-made strategies to achieve the level of wealth that defines your legacy.

We will take you through a 5-day face to face program with a four-week Bootstrap period, where our capable consultants will coach you through the process to help you kick start your dream.

  2. Determining how the ideal market place is identified
  3. How to verify your market is the ideal market place
  4. How a market and customers are segmented
  5. Describing how to reach your market
  6. How to keep and grow your market
  7. Explain the relationship between the business and the customer
  8. Explain how customer relationships are sparked, built and maintained
  9. Define the components of a compelling value proposition to the customer
  10. Describe the requirements to deliver on “your promise”
  11. Describe the tools and strategies to keep out competition

LEARNING AREA 3 - REVENUE

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Translating activity into revenue
  2. Explain the difference between revenue and cash flow and profit
  3. Define the elements of Top line growth vs bottom line growth
  4. Define the core elements for valuing your offering
  5. Demonstrate understanding of pricing strategies
  6. Describe the need for a Revenue mix
  7. Understand how to sell
  8. Define the elements of a compelling growth strategy

4 Week Period of Bootstrapping

During this period the learners are given the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and implement the learning areas to their ideas. The learners will prepare a portfolio of evidence based on the tools provided and the results of their implemented ideas.

Last 2 days of training 7-8 August 2017 – Investable Idea

During the last phase of training, the learner is prepared to interact with customers, funders and other stakeholders in the business.

LEARNING AREA 1- PORTFOLIO OF EVIDENCE

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Prepare a complete, succinct portfolio of evidence

LEARNING AREA 2 – PITCH PERFECT

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Outline and analyse the critical elements of a business plan
  2. Design and present a business plan relevant to the selected business idea
  3. Define the elements of a compelling value proposition to the customer
  4. Illustrate the case for investment in a presentation
  5. Allocation of funds
  6. Understand the difference between profit and cash flows.
  7. Prepare a basic cash flow forecast
  8. Importance of networking

LEARNING AREA 3 – LEGISLATION LANDSCAPE

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Identify relevant legislative requirements of a business
  2. Register a legal business entity
  3. Register as a tax payer for income tax, VAT and other taxes
  4. Understand basic income tax
  5. Understand VAT
  6. Complete a basic company income tax return and VAT return.
  7. Understand the payroll process.
  8. Pastel payroll and complete a basic EMP201 form.
  9. IRP5’s and annual payroll returns
